Sussex County government offices closed Friday, Jan. 5, due to winter weather

Due to the continuing effects of a major winter storm, County offices will again be closed Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.

The blizzard warning for Sussex County, Delaware, has expired, but a wind chill advisory remains in effect, with gusty winds, exceptionally cold air, and blowing and drifting snow likely through Saturday, Jan. 6. Between 4 and 11 inches of snow have fallen across Sussex County, but because of windy conditions, drifts as large as 2- to 3-feet have been reported in many areas, with snow-covered roads all across the county. Citizens are urged to use caution if they must travel. For more information on driving conditions and restrictions, visit delaware.gov.

Please stay tuned to the County's website, social media channels, and local media for any pertinent updates, which will be issued as warranted.
