Sussex County government offices closed Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 due to winter weather

Due to winter weather conditions, Sussex County government offices will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, as the season's second major winter storm has dropped an average of 4 to 6 inches of snow across Sussex County as of Tuesday night, Feb. 11. Additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of snow are possible during the overnight hours, before tapering off around daybreak Wednesday.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving, or delay their travel plans until at least midday Wednesday to allow Delaware Department of Transportation road crews times to clear area roadways. Rising temperatures, and another round of moisture - this time in the form of rain on Wednesday afternoon and evening - will help to melt the snow that has fallen and ease winter weather conditions.

Please stay tuned to the County's website, social media channels, and local media for any pertinent updates, which will be issued as warranted.
