The Sussex County Engineering Department maintains a set of Standards that address design criteria, technical specifications, construction details, and best practices associated with the design and installation of County maintained sanitary sewer infrastructure and related amenities. The Standards are intended to assist Engineers, Contractors, and Material Suppliers when designing, fabricating, or installing sewer and related amenities associated with both Private Development and County Capital projects. The Standards may be amended from time to time to reflect new practices or policies, and as such the most up-to-date materials will be made available on this site. Any suggestions for improvements or clarifications on the Engineering Standards should be directed to the County Engineer.
For Standards related to privately maintained building sewer and water service, refer to the County’s Technical Bulletin
