Steve C. McCarron serves as the 2nd district councilman on the five-member Sussex County Council, representing northwestern portions of Sussex County, including the Bridgeville, Ellendale, Greenwood, Lincoln, Milford, and Milton areas. Elected to Council in 2024, Mr. McCarron is a lifelong Delawarean who is new to County government, but not to local public service, having previously served on the Woodbridge School Board, as well as the Bridgeville Town Commission. He is a lifelong member of the Bridgeville Fire Co., having held numerous leadership positions. A graduate of Woodbridge High School and later Delaware Valley University, Mr. McCarron spent more than 20 years working in both the poultry and vegetable industries on the Delmarva Peninsula before turning his hand to entrepreneurship as a small business owner. Mr. McCarron, who, along with his family, owns and operates an electrical contracting company, as well as two restaurants, believes economic development is a key component to maintaining a thriving economy. To that end, he is an advocate for business leaders who understand the demands of opening new ventures, taking risks, and attracting and maintaining a growing workforce. Mr. McCarron lives in hometown of Bridgeville with his wife, Shelly, daughter, Ava, and son, Shane.
