Sussex County has been allocated $479,641.50 by the Delaware Opioid Settlement Commission. Through May 4, 2026, Sussex County is accepting applications from Sussex County community partners to implement and scale essential services across the continuum of care for the treatment and long-term recovery support of opioid drug use.
Awarded funding is to supplement and not supplant current resources that support Sussex County residents. All programs must align with one or more of these established strategies and must be designed to utilize all funding within one year of award.
Organizations applying for these funds must be able to legally operate in Sussex County and have proven experience in opioid treatment and recovery.
This application is only step one. If Sussex County approves your application on May 12th, your agency will receive a link to move onto the second application stage through the Delaware Opioid Settlement Commission. The second application will be due May 18, 2026. This application process ensures that every project receives a dedicated technical review, a specific legal contract, and its own tailored performance tracking plan.
Approved recipients must participate in regular financial reporting and site visits to ensure transparency and measurable impact. Recipients must also engage in Commission-led training and support.
