June 17, 2008 05:30 a.m. MR 08-14: At approximately 2:39 a.m., an ambulance from Mid Sussex Rescue Squad transporting a patient under the care of a Sussex County Emergency Medical Services (SCEMS) Paramedic and an EMT from Mid Sussex Rescue Squad to Beebe Medical Center was involved in a crash on Route 24 just east of Rehoboth Beach / Lewes Fire Station 3. All patients have been transported to Beebe Medical Center. There are fatalities in the accident. However, no other information is available at this time, pending notification of family members.
