February 9, 2007 MR 07-03 [Millsboro, DE] – An early morning fire at 26055 Branch Road severely burned the resident of a manufactured home, destroying the residence. The unidentified occupant later died from his injuries.

Units from the Indian River, Millsboro and Lewes Fire Companies, along with an ambulance from the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad, paramedics from Sussex County EMS and the DSP Trooper 2 medevac helicopter responded to the blaze. Paramedic Unit 106 arrived first, along with Ambulance 91, and found the structure to be fully involved. The victim was found lying in front of the residence.

The victim was treated at the scene for extensive first, second and third degree burns, and was transported to Beebe Medical Center, where he later died. Three dogs were found alive in the structure, and were recovered by Kent County SPCA personnel.
