October 13, 2008 MR-08-25 [Georgetown-DE] –Sussex County Emergency Medical Services will participate in a multi-agency media event at 1130 a.m. on Tuesday October 14, 2008 at the Lewes Fire Department’s main station located at 347 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE to discuss the events that occurred during three cardiac arrests that had successful outcomes. In each of the three events key intervention by first responders was a significant factor in the positive outcomes. The success of these incidents re-enforces the need for first responders and members of the general public to be educated in the use and  benefits of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED’s). Agencies that will have representatives available for interview will include Sussex County EMS, Delaware State Police, Ocean View Police Department, Lewes Fire Department, Millville Fire Department, and Beebe Medical Center.
