Sussex County Council Honors Fallen Paramedic

October 28, 2008 MR 08-26 [Georgetown-DE] – Sussex County Council dedicated a plaque to honor Paramedic Stephanie Callaway at its October 28, 2008 meeting in the council chambers. The plaque will hang in the council chambers to honor Paramedic Callaway, who was killed in the line of duty on June 17, 2008. Sussex County E.M.S. Director Glenn Luedtke read the inscription in front of the council:

The inscription reads “This plaque is placed in loving memory of Sussex County EMS Paramedic Stephanie Callaway, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 17, 2008. She will always live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and the patients she cared for.”

Also present for the dedication where members of Paramedic Callaway’s family, Sussex County E.M.S. and the Sussex County Paramedic Association. Paramedic Callaway was the first Sussex County E.M.S. Paramedic to perish in the line of duty in the department’s eighteen year history.
