December 4, 2008 MR 08-27: Sussex County EMS (SCEMS) announces the grand opening and dedication of Medic 108 and the Cinderberry Logistics Center, at 9:00 a.m. on December 16, 2008. The new facility is located at 8 Mulberry Lane in Georgetown, Del., at the entrance to the Villages of Cinderberry. Members of the Sussex County Council and Sussex County Administrator David Baker will be on hand to help SCEMS open this new facility with an official dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony. Immediately following the ceremony the station will be open for tours and the public is invited to attend.
This new building allows SCEMS to meet the current demand for emergency services, as well as future expansion. The new facility will house the department’s Technical Services Division and Medic Unit 108. Medic 108 provides advanced life support emergency medical services to all of Georgetown and the surrounding area. The Technical Services Division provides medical supplies, equipment, maintenance, vehicles, and uniforms in support of all of the department’s paramedics and facilities. The new facility also includes office and warehouse space for all supplies and equipment used by the department. The new medic station will have shower and kitchen facilities, back-up power and security enhancements. Medic 108 and the Technical Services Division were previously located inside the Sussex County Administrative West Complex in Georgetown, Del.
