Sussex County to host second homebuyer fair

Georgetown, Del., Sept. 9, 2015: Sussex County is lending a home-buying helping hand to those who are in the market for a place to call their own.

The County, in partnership with the Delaware State Housing Authority, Sussex County Association of REALTORS®, First State Community Action Agency, and NCALL Research Inc., will host the second annual Sussex County Homebuyer Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. The event will be held inside the Carter Partnership Center at the Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus in Georgetown.

The event is free and open to the public, and is designed to match potential homebuyers with housing counselors, lenders and other resources that are available to help put would-be buyers in their own homes. Vendors will be featured at the event, as well, showcasing their products and services. While anyone can attend, pre-registration is strongly encouraged so attendees can receive a free copy of their credit reports while at the fair.

“Last year’s inaugural event was tremendously successful, with more than 75 attendees. We look for this year to be an even bigger success,” said Brandy Nauman, housing coordinator for the County’s Community Development & Housing office said. “We are excited to once again bring together housing resources with potential homebuyers in a one-stop-shop setting that promotes homeownership.”
