Georgetown, Del., Dec. 11, 2009: Sussex County Council has named Bonnie C. Hall of Millsboro the 2009 employee of the year for Sussex County government.

County Administrator David Baker with Bonnie HallCouncil President Vance C. Phillips on Friday announced this year’s winner during the annual Mildred King Luncheon for the County’s approximately 500 employees. Mrs. Hall was selected from a field of four employees, all quarterly winners this past year, for the distinction. Mrs. Hall was this year’s first quarter winner.

Mrs. Hall received a standing ovation from her fellow employees as Mr. Phillips presented her with a plaque.

“Coming to work for the County has been great. I enjoy what I do, and it is an honor to have been selected employee of the year,” said Mrs. Hall, who serves as a payroll accountant in the County’s Accounting division. “It’s nice knowing that what I do is appreciated by others.”

County Administrator David Baker commended Mrs. Hall for nearly five years of service, which began in January 2005 as a clerk in the Utility Billing office. He and Accounting Director Gina Jennings praised Mrs. Hall for her pleasant personality, her eagerness to pick up other tasks between duties, and for her reliability and efficiency in assisting other departments.
