The results of the competition include: Poland, First Place; Holland, Second Place; and Sussex County EMS, Third Place. The Sussex County team consisted of only Paramedics. All other international teams included nurses and physicians. According to the MDA, Israel’s National EMS system, 40 teams participated in the three-day long competition representing twelve countries from around the world.
According to Glenn Luedtke, the Sussex County EMS Director, “We are thrilled beyond words with our team’s performance, and with the recognition that comes with having placed so highly in competition with our peers from around the world. The members of our team worked extremely hard to prepare for this rigorous test of skill and knowledge, and all of us at Sussex County EMS are proud of them and their outstanding accomplishment. The citizens of Sussex County and of Delaware should take comfort in the fact that the paramedics who placed number three in the world are representative of the pride and tradition of excellence of the paramedics who will come to their homes when they call 911 with a serious emergency.”
