The State of Delaware Office of Animal Welfare assumed animal control duties from the counties in 2016.

Starting April 9, 2025, Delaware dog licensing may be found online at stateofdelaware.docupet.com. Dog licensing is required in Delaware for dogs six months and older and must include a valid rabies vaccination.
