Sussex County Board of Assessment Review Member Application Form

The County Council is currently accepting applications for appointment to the Board of Assessment Review. There will be 8 appointments to fill. Five appointments will be for regular members and 3 will be for alternate members. Appointments will be for either 2 or 3 years to stagger terms. Applicants must be residents of Sussex County and preferably have knowledge of the assessment, real estate, and/or the appraisal process. Regular member applicants should be generally available to sit on the board from March 1st to May 31st. Alternative member applicants should be available to sit in for a regular board member if they are unable to attend. During the term on the board, members shall be a resident of Sussex County and not an incumbent, candidate or candidate-elect for county, state, or federal public office. A board member will be paid $300 per full day meeting. If a meeting only lasts a half day, the rate will be reduced to $150.

The Board of Assessment could meet every Monday through Friday from March 1-May 31 from 8:30am-4:30pm in Council Chambers in Georgetown. In addition, occasional special meetings and workshops are scheduled that may require your attendance.
