September 7, 2004 PR-04-20 [Georgetown]-Sussex County will hold a 9/11 Recognition Ceremony on September 10, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. on the Circle in Georgetown, Delaware. This year’s theme, “Never Forget”, will honor those who serve their country and communities including members of the Armed Forces, police, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, and EMS.
Guest speakers will include the Honorable Ruth Ann Miner and various state and local officials. During the ceremony there will be a presentation of colors and patriotic music. In addition, several members of the public safety community will receive special recognition for their outstanding service to the citizens of Sussex County and Delaware.
During the ceremony there will be a number of emergency vehicles on display around the circle. In order facilitate these vehicles and hold the event the Circle will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. and re-open following the ceremony. Parking will be available on local streets.
