Maintenance of Traffic Services

Bids are being sought from Contractors to provide all labor, materials, and equipment required to provide Maintenance of Traffic Services on an as-needed basis for traffic control applications in Sussex County, Delaware. These services will be utilized to support general utility inspection, maintenance, repair, and emergency response activities by Sussex County staff. This is an open-end project with no guarantee of work.

Peninsula Community Road Repairs

Bids are being sought from Contractors to provide all labor, materials and equipment required to perform street pavement repairs, overlay, curbing repair/replacement, utility adjustments, drainage inlet adjustments/repairs, striping, maintenance of traffic, and general site restoration within both The Conservancy and Veranda Sub-Phase Communities of The Peninsula Community located off Bay Farm Road in Millsboro.

Wolfe Runne Sewer Expansion

The Project consists of furnishing and installing approximately 7,269 linear feet of eight-inch (8”) PVC gravity sewer main; 1,820 linear feet of six-inch (6”) PVC gravity sewer laterals, 324 vertical feet of four- foot (4’) diameter sanitary sewer manhole; 69 vertical feet of five-foot (5’) diameter sanitary sewer manhole; 44 manholes covers and frames; a pump station with duplex submersible grinder pumps with approximately 1,046 linear feet of two-inch (2”) force main; thirteen (13) E-One type simplex grinder stations with approximately 1,750 linear feet of one and a half-inch (1.5”) forc

Engineering Standards

The Sussex County Engineering Department maintains a set of Standards that address design criteria, technical specifications, construction details, and best practices associated with the design and installation of County maintained sanitary sewer infrastructure and related amenities. The Standards are intended to assist Engineers, Contractors, and Material Suppliers when designing, fabricating, or installing sewer and related amenities associated with both Private Development and County Capital projects.

Sussex County offers a Front Footage Grant and a Deferment of System Connection Charges to property owners who: (1) were required to install or upgrade their septic system by DNREC within the last 5 years, (2) are now required to connect to a Sussex County sewer, and (3) paid more than $10,000 for the installation or upgrade.
