We strongly recommend that all property owners sign up for the Recording Activity Notification Service. This is a free service offered through Landmark.

The Sussex County Recorder of Deeds Office utilizes the Recording Activity Notification Service through Landmark. The Recording Activity Notification Service is a voluntary alert system to notify you when a document containing your registered name has been recorded.  This Service is not operated by the Recorder of Deeds and is only a service that is available through an independent third-party contractor that is available as an accommodation to our citizens.

The Recording Activity Notification Service is an electronic notification service that alerts a subscriber via email every time a land records document is recorded with a requested name. The Service does not produce alerts based on parcel number or property address.

The use of the Recording Activity Notification Service is undertaken at your own discretion. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from the Sussex County Recorder of Deeds Office, or from this website, shall create any warranty for the use of the Recording Activity Notification Service. Recorder of Deeds Alexandra Reed Baker and the Sussex County Recorder of Deeds Office does not guarantee or ensure the accuracy of the information provided through the Recording Activity Notification Service, nor guarantee or verify the truthfulness of any information contained in any recorded document.

By registering your e-mail with Landmark via the Recording Activity Notification Service, you agree that Recorder of Deeds Alexandra Reed Baker, the Sussex County Recorder of Deeds Office, and Sussex County is not responsible for any damages incurred by you because of the use of the Recording Activity Notification Service, or reliance upon information provided.
